Year 5 homework for Friday 8th January 2016.

In literacy, we have begun the new term by looking at performance poetry. We are learning to write a poem based on stormy weather using figurative language (similes, metaphors and personification). In your learning log, create a single bubble with ideas of figurative language for stormy weather. Then use these ideas to write your own poem. Think about what you have learnt in class so far to help you.

Our new history topic this term is the Ancient Greeks. Choose one ancient Greek god or goddess to research (eg; Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Aphrodite, Apollo, Athena). Then use your research to write a paragraph about your chosen god or goddess. This will help you when we look at Myths and Legends in literacy later this term.

Please complete exercise 6 in your CGP maths book.

Also, remember to keep practicing all of your times tables so that you are able to recall them quickly and confidently.

Please make sure that all of your homework is up to a year 5 standard, including presentation!

Deadline: homework is due in on Thursday 14th January. As always, if you have any problems, please see Miss Lakha or Miss Mistry before the deadline.
